“When my caseworker sent me [to Employment Ontario], Collège Boréal helped me. First, I needed a resume, a good resume and to know which kind of job I can do. When she sent me to Osmow’s Production, I have an interview, and after two or three days, I call Sam ar to tell her that they accepted me to start that job. Of course, it was not easy when you start the job. Working here in Canada and in my country is different, so I need to make new adaptation. And Samar was always there to support me. In the end of the year, I received the award of Rookie of the Year. It was amazing for me, I was very happy. So, all the coaching, all the support I received helped me in my life.”
“There was a while there I wasn’t working and I just got into a really bad rut and it took a lot for me to get out of it…I felt like a burden. So I don’t feel like that anymore and I’m able to actually help people now…If you’re working with the right people, in the right atmosphere, anything can be fun. You know, get the job done, get it done right, but work as a team and have fun….Step out of your comfort zone briefly, long enough to get to the resources that you need so that you can get to where you want to be.”
